ABOUT ASET training

Established in 1993, ASET International Energy Training Academy is one of the UK's leading specialist training providers, delivering industry-relevant and safety-focused technical training for the energy and wider industrial sectors.

For more than 30 years, we have worked closely with industry to understand changing skills requirements and develop training that responds to the needs of both individuals and organisations. Today, our expertise supports workforces across energy, utilities, renewables, marine, manufacturing and other safety-critical industries.

We deliver highly specialised, hands-on skills training and assessment to UK and international Awarding Body standards, combining specialist facilities and equipment with experienced instructors who bring extensive industry knowledge into the training environment.

Our purpose is to help organisations develop skilled, safe and confident workforces. From supporting established technical competencies to developing new skills for an evolving energy landscape, our practical approach reflects the environments, equipment and challenges people encounter in industry.

RECOGNISED FOR CUSTOMER EXCELLENCE

ASET was named winner of the Customer Focus SME Award at the 2025 National Institute of Customer Service Awards, recognising our commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

The award celebrates the work of the whole ASET team and our continued focus on listening to customers, improving how we work and building strong, long-term relationships with the organisations and individuals we support.

From developing our training and facilities to improving the customer journey, that commitment to continuous improvement remains central to how we work.

OUR CORE VALUES

Our values define who we are, how we work and what we expect of ourselves and each other. They shape our culture, guide the decisions we make and influence how we support our customers, work with our partners and contribute to the wider communities we serve.

experienced instructors

ASET’s instructor team is made up entirely of highly experienced ex-industry professionals who have built their careers in real operational environments across the global energy and industrial sectors. They bring decades of hands-on knowledge, technical expertise and leadership into the classroom, ensuring every delegate learns from people who have real-world experience.

Our instructors are passionate about instilling confidence through practical, skills-based training grounded in authentic working environments. They understand the challenges and pressures faced in today’s industrial settings, and use real scenarios, live equipment and practical assessments to develop the judgement and capability needed to operate safely and effectively.

Collectively, their expertise spans Process Operations, Electrical & HV/LV, Mechanical, Hazardous Areas (CompEx), Control & Instrumentation, Marine & Simulation, Health & Safety and Renewables - enabling ASET to deliver training built on real-world application rather than theory alone.

SUPPORTING THE NEXT GENERATION THROUGH APTUS

ASET plays an important role in supporting our colleagues at North East Scotland College through the APTUS Apprenticeship scheme, helping to develop the next generation of skilled technicians for the energy industry.

Working within our specialist training facilities in Aberdeen, apprentices have the opportunity to put their technical knowledge into practice, develop hands-on experience and build confidence in environments designed to reflect the equipment and challenges encountered across industry.

We help ensure apprentices are equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need as they progress through their apprenticeship and towards their future careers.
